Tilley lighterweight Mesh Hats are ideal for outdoor enthusiasts looking to keep their cool in a broader brimmed hat. This Hat is lightweight, breathable and comfortable because the crown is made of strong, unique 3-D polyester mesh which blocks sunlight, but allows air to pass easily. LTM8 has been engineered with a water-repellent, sun protection 3 inch mesh crown with a lighterweight Supplex nylon brim. Designed to be very lightweight & breathable the Tilley Lighterweight Mesh Hats have been tested and certified as having a UPF 50+, the maximum UV protection rating given.

The LTM9 Mesh Hat is styled with the medium, semi-sloping brim size of the Tilley LTM5 and T5 Cotton duck models.

Brim Measurements: Front 2 5/8 inches, Back 2 3/4 inches, Sides: 2 1/8 inches.

To protect you from the sun and rain, Tilleys fit lower than other hats. This also tends to give one a rather dashing appearance!

Even though they fit gently, Tilleys won't fly off because when there's a breeze, you use one or both parts of the tuckaway Wind Cord.

INSURED AGAINST LOSS:
With your Hat, you'll be provided with The Straight-Shooter's Statement of Loss of a Tilley Hat` insurance policy. The insurance is for two years, all perils, 50% deductible, and is not issued by Lloyds.

FLOATS:
A layer of closed-cell foam in the crown, and sometimes in the brim, provides the Tilley's positive buoyancy. This is a boon to boaters and fishermen/women/people.

TIES ON:
The Tilley comes with a tuckaway, adjustable, fore 'n' aft Wind Cord. When it's calm, the Wind Cord stays hidden in the crown. When there's a breeze, place the part with the sliding knots behind your head. When it's windy or you're sailing, use the chin part too.

SECRET POCKET:
Inside the crown is a good-sized pocket sealed with Velcro. In it, carry your I.D., hotel key, $10 bill, plus a quarter for an emergency phone call.

ANTI-SWEAT BAND:
New sweatband fabric, TRANSPOR DRY LAYER offers superior moisture control technology. Perspiration slides through the inner layer to the outer wicking layer of the fabric where it spreads and evaporates. It will keep you cool and dry in the heat.

CERTIFIED SUN PROTECTION:
The fabric and style of all Tilley Hats have been certified to block 98 percent of harmful UVA/UVB radiation and deliver an ultraviolet factor (UPF) of 50+, the maximum rating given. You still need SPF 15 sunscreen and sunglasses with UV filters! Children especially need the UV filters in their sunglasses as non-filtering glasses will increase the size of their pupils, allowing even more of the damaging UV rays to enter.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD:
As mentioned above, a Tilley Hat fits lower and more comfortably than other hats. The lower it sits, the larger at that point is one's head circumference. To find your Tilley size, simply measure around your head, just above the eyebrows. See the Tilley Hat Sizing Chart.

If you already know your regular hat size, please ask for one size larger when you order your Tilley. For instance, if you're sure you're a 7 1/4, order a 7 3/8.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:
Machine wash on delicate cycle or hand wash in cool water. Do not use bleach. Smooth and reshape the Hat by hand and set it out to air dry. Wash it frequently or non-removable sweat stains will mar it and discolor fabric.

CONSTRUCTION
The lighterweight Tilley (LT) Hats are handcrafted of a strong, laminated, waterproof nylon, Tilley Nylamtium; Our new nylon fabric (93% Nylon, 7% Spandex) is tightly woven with a DWR finish.
