Not only are all the seams sealed, but the exterior Nylon is laminated with a waterproof backing, making this Hat the ultimate rain stopper. For those days when the weather is a mite unpredictable, a zipper venting system allows for maximum airflow between downpours. When the rain eases, the YYK zipper vent allows air to circulate throughout the mesh interior for coolness and comfort. A 3M Scotchlite reflective hatband, zipper pull and wind cord make the Waterproof Hat more visible in heavy precipitation or at dawn, dusk or nighttime. An interior size adjuster ensures a custom fit. And if all that wasn't enough, it's retains maximum sun protection as well, rated at an "EXCELLENT" UPF 50+, the maximum rating given.

INSURED AGAINST LOSS:
With your Hat, you'll be provided with The Straight-Shooter's Statement of Loss of a Tilley Hat insurance policy. The insurance is for two years, all perils, 50% deductible, and is not issued by Lloyds.

FLOATS:
A layer of closed-cell foam in the crown, and sometimes in the brim, provides the Tilley's positive buoyancy. This is a boon to boaters and fishermen/women/people.

TIES ON:
The Tilley comes with a tuck away, adjustable, fore 'n' aft Wind Cord. When it's calm, the Wind Cord stays hidden in the crown. When there's a breeze, place the part with the sliding knots behind your head. When it's windy or you're sailing, use the chin part too.

REPELS RAIN:
The TWP1 stops it altogether! All seams are sealed and the exterior Nylon laminated with a waterproof backing to keep you dry no matter what Mother Nature sends your way.

ANTI-SWEAT BAND:
New sweatband fabric, TRANSPOR DRY LAYER offers superior moisture control technology. Perspiration slides through the inner layer to the outer wicking layer of the fabric where it spreads and evaporates. It will keep you cool and dry in the heat.

CERTIFIED SUN PROTECTION:
The fabric and style of all Tilley Hats have been certified to block 98 percent of harmful UVA/UVB radiation and deliver an ultraviolet factor (UPF) of 50+, the maximum rating given. You still need SPF 15 sunscreen and sunglasses with UV filters! Children especially need the UV filters in their sunglasses as non-filtering glasses will increase the size of their pupils, allowing even more of the damaging UV rays to enter.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD:
As mentioned above, a Tilley Hat fits lower and more comfortably than other hats. The lower it sits, the larger at that point is one's head circumference. To find your Tilley size, simply measure around your head, just above the eyebrows. See the Tilley Hat Sizing Chart.

If you already know your regular hat size, please ask for one size larger when you order your Tilley. For instance, if you're sure you're a 7 1/4, order a 7 3/8.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:
Machine wash on delicate cycle or hand wash in cool water. Do not use bleach. Smooth and reshape the Hat by hand and set it out to air dry. Wash it frequently or non-removable sweat stains will mar it and discolor fabric.
